Another New Claims and Exit Company Comes to Light

We start today with another possible dodgy claims company brought to our attention by another reader, this one is based in the UK in Widnes and is called Select Cheshire Limited.

They are registered at Company House, company registration number 11438906 with the following registered address:

Kemp House, 160 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX

This is a very familiar address which has been used by many a dodgy company in the past, the company Capital Office Ltd offers a variety of services from just the use of the address for company registration purposes to the full package of office services. As they say on their website, their prestigious London address will impress your clients!

Select Cheshire Ltd was registered on 28 June 2018, so are only just 5 months old, the registered director is Paul Fox with the same registered address of Kemp House. He shows no association with any other company and it appears this is his first directorship.

They do have a website:

http://selectcheshire.co.uk/

Registered on 27 June 2018 and is due to expire on 27 June 2019, so again only paid for 1 years registration. The identity of the registrant is not shown as is usual with many of these types of companies.

The address they give on the website is also very interesting,

87 Albert Road, Widnes, WA8 6JS

As you can see from the picture below.

Another company was also based there, Select Resolutions Ltd, Company number 10251113 which was dissolved on 14 August 2018, just after Select Cheshire was formed, although the company director was a different person Chris Cartledge.

Both companies websites offer timeshare cancellation and timeshare claims services, so it is not difficult to conclude that they are actually one and the same outfit, especially when they both have the same telephone number 0151 424 1729.

So could it be just a change in company name with Select Resolutions clients probably losing out when they find that their timeshares have not been cancelled and that there are no claims, but now have a debt for maintenance arrears.

According to the email received by our reader and the website, Select Cheshire use SRA registered solicitors but nowhere do they show who they are.

Now for an engagement fee of around £2,300 your timeshare will be “Unilaterally Terminated” by one of those SRA registered solicitors and in his opinion the termination is effected. So as far as the timeshare company is concerned you have not cancelled your membership as they will not have accepted it. No doubt you will also be told to ignore any forthcoming maintenance bills, we all know what will then happen, demands for the arrears and the possibility of a debt collection agency chasing you.

The second option will cost around £2,995, this also includes the “unilateral termination” but will also include a claim for “compensation”. If the claim is successful which we very much doubt it will be, then they will take 30% “on the win of any and all claims.”

The question is how are they going to do the claim, it is obviously not going to be through the courts, so that really only leaves a section 75. So you pay an extra few hundred quid for a “unilateral termination” and the promise of a possible claim!

Well let’s see how long these are going to be around, we’ll wager that they are long gone in about a year, once they have made their money and you are still stuck with your timeshare.

As always, do your homework before engaging with any company that either contacts you or you have found on the internet. Check, check and check again, it pays off in the end.

New Information Received

Within minutes of publishing this article Inside Timeshare received the following links from a regular reader, it would appear that Paul Fox the registered director of Select Cheshire Limited has a past history and has been convicted of fraud. It would appear that he is at it again this time in the field of timeshare.
